Identification, packaging, manifesting and disposal of regulated waste streams generated on site.
Every remediation and demolition project generates waste, and the disposal paperwork outlives everything else about the job. Universal waste — lamps, ballasts, batteries, mercury devices — plus the hazardous and non-hazardous streams a building or plant holds, all have to be characterised correctly, packaged correctly and manifested to a permitted facility.
Scope of work

Inventory
Walk the site and inventory what is there, including the drums and containers nobody has opened in a decade.

Characterise
Determine the correct waste code by knowledge of process or by analysis. Getting this wrong is the expensive kind of mistake.
- 03
Package and label
Lab-pack, drum, palletise and label to DOT requirements for the shipping mode.
- 04
Manifest and transport
Ship to a permitted treatment, storage or disposal facility with the manifest chain intact.

Documentation
Return the complete disposal record to the generator, since generator liability does not transfer with the truck.

- RCRA (40 CFR 260–279) sets generator status, accumulation limits and manifesting.
- Universal waste is handled under 40 CFR Part 273.
- DOT 49 CFR governs packaging, labelling and shipping papers.
- Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware each administer their own authorised programs on top of the federal rules.
